What Is An Electronic Cigarette
An electronic cigarette or E-Cig consists of a battery which powers an atomiser. The atomiser contains a heating coil which vaporises a liquid usually referred to as E liquid. The vaporised e liquid contains the nicotine and flavour and closely resembles smoke yet no “burning” has taken place.

While e-cigarettes may give nicotine addicts more or less the same amount of nicotine as a conventional cigarette, they do not produce the same toxic smoke that can cause lung disease and cancer when inhaled over time. Since there are no products of combustion to be inhaled, no tobacco toxins (over 4000 of them) are inhaled besides nicotine.

Disposable Clearomisers
The most popular E-cig’s sold today consist of a battery and a disposable clearomiser. The clearomiser contains e-liquid and a heating coil to heat the liquid, turning it in to a vapour. In most starter kits you’ll also receive a USB charger for your battery, some e-liquid and a carry case.
A typical disposable clearomiser should last a regular user 3 weeks. After that you’ll need to purchase another clearomiser otherwise the heating coil will start to burn out leaving a bad taste or start to produce poor amounts of vapour.
To fill the clearomiser with liquid simply unscrew the “Drip Tip” and place it to one side. Then with either a needle bottle or a bottle with a pointed tip pour the liquid in to the side of the clearomiser vessel. Try not to get any liquid down the centre hole. Once you have filled to the 1.6ml line screw the drip tip back in place.
When filling your clearomiser for the first time it is important to let it stand for a few minutes to let the wick draw plenty of liquid through the heating coil. Firing up your E-cig before the liquid has been drawn in to the coil can burn the wick resulting in a burnt taste or cleaormiser failure.
Top Tip: Refilling your clearomiser when only half of the liquid has been used can lengthen the life of your clearomiser. Vaping with low levels of liquid in the clearomiser can risk burning of the wick if you vape regularly.
Replaceable Coil Clearomisers
NuSmoke Thor (Top Replaceable Coil Clearomiser)
With a replaceable coil clearomiser after it has been used for 3 to 4 weeks and the coil starts to fade there’s no need to purchase a complete new clearomiser. You can simply replace the heating coil.
This is more cost effective than purchasing disposable clearomisers and also gives you the option to experiment with different coil “resistances” to produce varying amounts of vapour which we will cover later in the guide.
To change the coil Unscrew the “Drip Tip” and place to one side.
Ensure that there is no liquid remaining in the clearomiser or carefully empty any remaining liquid in to a bottle.
Unscrew the vessel from the base of the clearmiser and place to one side.
It is best to now dry the centre post with a paper towel. With your finger and thumb simply unscrew the top heating coil and screw in the replacement.
Now screw the vessel back on to the clearomiser base, fill with liquid as you would with a disposable clearomiser and screw the “Drip Tip” back on the top.
NuSmoke Evolution (Bottom Replaceable Coil Cleaormiser)
There are distinct advantages to a “Bottom Replaceable Coil Clearomiser” and the NuSmoke Evolution clearomiser is a big hit with vapers of all levels.
Firstly coils last longer, produce better vapour and a much more flavourful taste. This is because the coil, at the bottom of the atomiser, is permanently submerged in liquid and will never run dry.
Secondly replacing coils and refilling liquid is much easier than a standard cleaormiser. The coil assembly simply unscrews from the housing.
By holding the atomiser upside down and unscrewing the coil assembly, you can refill liquid or replace the coil at any time, even replacing the coil with half a tank of liquid left is no problem with the NuSmoke volution Clearomiser!
Another advantage is that each of the coils also contains the battery connection. Each coil replacement gives you a fresh battery connection so this nifty clearomiser could last you for years to come.
Batteries
All NuSmoke batteries and most batteries available elsewhere have 2 different threads for attaching different clearomisers. One is called a 510 thread the small thread inside the top of the batter and the other is called an Ego thread the wider one on the outside of the battery.
This means that NuSmoke batteries are compatible with many atomisers and our atomisers and clearomisers fit most other batteries. Providing they use either a 510 or Ego thread.
Batteries also come in many flavours so to speak from slick stainless steel ones to patterned fancy ones and even variable voltage batteries which we will cover later.
Batteries usually come in 3 main sizes, 350 MAH, 650 MAH and 900MAH. Basically the higher the number the longer the battery will last. However, larger MAH batteries are also larger in size. A 650 MAH is usually the best place to start and should last a regular user over a full day without charging.
Charging
With all of our starter and full kits we provide a USB charging lead for charging your battery. Mains and Car charger adapters are available to plug your USB charger in to a wall socket or a cars cigarette outlet.
To charge your battery 1st plug the charger in to the power supply without the battery connected. The LED should light up green. Now screw your barrery in to the charge. The LED on the charger and battery should flash 3 times and then the LED on the charger will turn red. Once the LED turns green charging is complete (aprox 2 to 3 hours).
Top Tip: To lengthen the life of your battery only charge it when it is completely flat and charge fully each time before using.
E Liquid
